We offer a very wide range of martial arts classes and fitness programs!

Basic Kenpo - Entry-level classes for children age 6 and over through adult.   This is our basic self-defense and physical conditioning program designed to enhance the student’s self-esteem and self-discipline. This program will take the student through the first three ranks of our martial arts system. 

 

Black Belt Club - The next level up from the Basic Program, students accepted into the BBC are those with a goal of Black Belt. Students begin sparring and some weapons training and continue Kenpo instruction at an intermediate level. The student may be recommended by an instructor.

 

XMA Program - This program is designed for students who want to take their training to the highest level.  In XMA, students will learn advanced techniques using double nunchucks, staff, and kamas! The students will learn how to do exciting Gymnastics and start to develop their own synchronized moves using the weapons they are learning and the flips from gymanstics. This is the newest form of martial arts and is quickly becoming more and more popular. 

 

Leadership Club - This is designed to promote leadership skills in advanced students, while teaching the basic fundamentals of instructing and class management.  Students must have a high understanding of the system, a willingness to help others in our community and in our school.  In order to become a certified Instructor at our school, one must complete the leadership curriculum, have a black belt and perform a specified amount of Community Service Hours, School Service Hours(inside Mitchell’s Martial Arts), and Teaching/Assisting hours for each rank in the leadership club. The student must be recommended by their instructor.

 

Demonstration Team This team represents Mitchell’s Martial Arts and performs demonstrations all around the community. All students are required to perform all throughout the year. Performing develops self-confidence, self-esteem, poise, and is a chance to showcase your Art for the public. Any student may tryout on our tryout date once a year.

 

Kickin’ Kids After School Program - Childcare and karate instruction for students in kindergarten through 8th grade. Transportation is provided from school to the studio.  Homework supervision, games, and snack are provided after school until 6:00 p.m. and on days schools are closed.  Accredited by the State of Maryland Child Care Administration. 

 

Summer Program - Traditional summer day program with a KICK. Children ages 3 to 13 will spend their days enjoying activities such as arts and crafts, gymnastics, basketball, roller skating, miniature golf, swimming, and free time to play outdoors.  A daily martial arts lesson teaches self-discipline, respect, focus, and builds self-confidence. 6:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. unless special arrangements are made for later pick up.  Accredited by the State of Maryland Child Care Administration.

 

MMA Day Care - Mitchell’s Martial Arts is a licensed day care facility in the state of Maryland.

We provide all day care and half day care to children as young as 3 yrs old. This program is design to teach kids basic building blocks for their education. Working on Numbers, ABC’s, colors, shapes, handing spelling and Much more. Plus they get a martial class and lots of fun physical activities.  

 

 

Lil’ Dragons - Kenpo for the very young.  Beginner to intermediate classes for children ages 3 to 5 years old.  Games are used to teach the fundamental movements and develop motor skills and concentration.

 

A Firm Defense for Women - Basic course that covers self-defense techniques that are needed to insure your safety in any situation. Focus is on self-awareness, home safety, weapons at hand, and personal well being.  Offered as a one-day seminar or a more extensive 8-week program with greater detail and practice.  A 2-hour Corporate Special is also available.   

 

Know & Go – Child Safety - A specialized safety program for children ages 4-12.  Using an obstacle course children are taught to recognize audible signals of unintentional and intentional danger and how to react.  In a fun, safe environment children learn how to prevent injury from broken glass, smoke inhalation, and a parent’s worst fear – abduction. All proceeds from this program are donated to Project Action to help at-risk children.

 

CDT Training - Personal Protection system.  CDT stands for Compliance-Direction-Takedown.   This training is not a martial art. Geared for the everyday person and based on common movements such as turning a key or knocking on a door, the techniques taught in this program are easy to learn and more importantly, easy to retain.

 

Yoga - Yoga exercises, including stretching, breathing and guided relaxation release tension and calm the nervous system. Focus, attention and concentration are promoted throughout mindful movement and body awareness. Yoga massages and tones the glands, organs, and endocrine system, increasing circulation to stimulate, heal and eliminate toxins form the body. Holding yoga postures create isometric exercise which tones every part of the body, including internal organs. Yoga gently stretches the entire body, increasing flexibility and lengthening the muscles tendons and ligaments. Slow Gentle movements with deep breathing energize the body rather than tire it. This in combination with yoga’s relaxation and healing benefits allows for daily renewal and nourishment of the mind, body, and spirit.

 

Cane Masters - The Cane Master System has been developed as a comprehensive and devastating self defense style. The cane practitioner has a tool that can be taken anywhere: Across State or international borders, though airports, parks, the post office, restaurants, shopping or anywhere else that trouble might arise. Threat Awareness, Self defense against weapons, Using the crook and the horn of a cane, Exercise with the cane, Stretching

   

Roller Skating for Members  - Skating is a great way to stay fit and have fun. Students enrolled in one of our martial arts programs may skate on Saturday afternoons at no additional charge.  There is a $2.00 skate rental fee if you do not have skates.

 

GYM - We now offer a full weight room workout center. Equipped with state of the art workout equipment available for your convenient access any time of the day that we are open! From 6:30 am until 9pm, anytime you like for as long as you like!   Call and ask about our personal trainers!!
